AKIAVEL – VENI VIDI VICI (INDEPENDENT RELEASE)

Οι AKIAVEL, είναι μια γαλλική μελωδική death metal μπάντα που σχηματίστηκε το 2018. Η τραγουδίστριά τους Aurélie Gérard μπορεί να βγάλει καταπληκτικά growling φωνητικά και τα στιχουργικά θέματα στα οποία επιδίδονται με τα άλμπουμ τους αφορούν τους κατά συρροή δολοφόνους και όπως λένε, τις πέντε πληγές της ψυχής. Η μουσική τους είναι brutal, progressive, μελωδική και έντονη.

Στο τρίτο τους άλμπουμ Veni Vidi Vici που βγήκε σε ψηφιακή μορφή στις 23 Δεκεμβρίου 2022 ενισχύουν τον ήχο τους με thrashy κιθαριστικά riffs και αδυσώπητο drumming. Η Aure είναι ακόμα πιο brutal αν αυτό θα μπορούσε να είναι δυνατόν και το συνολικό αποτέλεσμα ακούγεται ακόμη πιο επιθετικό. Ναι είναι γυναίκα αλλά τα φωνητικά της είναι πολύ κοντά σε μια από τις επιρροές της, Jeff Walker. Όπως μας είχε πει ο Butch, drummer της μπάντας στη συνέντευξή του πριν ξεκινήσουν τις ηχογραφήσεις κάθε φορά που βρίσκονται στη δημιουργική διαδικασία, προσπαθούν να μείνουν πιστοί σε αυτό που θέλουν για το συγκρότημα, είτε πρόκειται για τη μουσική, είτε για τα βίντεο, είτε ακόμα και για το artwork.

Στο τρίτο τους άλμπουμ υπάρχουν τραγούδια που μπορεί να σου θυμίζουν λίγο AMON AMARTH, CARCASS ή MEGADETH αλλά και GOJIRA, ωστόσο καταφέρνουν να διατηρήσουν τη δική τους ταυτότητα. Κατά τη γνώμη μου, οι AKIAVEL είναι μια από τις πιο ελπιδοφόρες μπάντες που υπάρχουν και το μόνο που χρειάζεται να κάνετε είναι να τους δώσετε μια ευκαιρία ακούγοντας τη δουλειά τους. Βρίσκονται ακριβώς στο σήμερα του μελωδικού death metal με ρίζες βαθιά στην ιστορία του είδους.

AKIAVEL, are a French melodic death metal band formed in 2018. Their singer Aurélie Gérard can pull out amazing growling vocals and the lyric themes they are into with their albums are about serial killers and as they say, the five wounds of the soul. Their music is brutal, progressive, melodic and intense.

In their third album Veni Vidi Vici that came out in digital form on December 23^rd they are enhancing their sound with thrashy guitar riffs and relentless drumming. Aure is even more brutal if that could be possible and the total effect sounds brutal. Yes, she is a woman but her vocals are very close to one of her influences Jeff Walker. As Butch the band’s drummer had told us in his interview before they started recording every time they are in the creative process, they try to stay true to what they want in terms of the band, be it the music, the videos or even the artwork.

In their third album there are songs that might remind you a bit of AMON AMARTH  , others CARCASS or MEGADETH but also GOJIRA yet they manage to preserve their own identity. In my opinion, AKIAVEL is one of the most promising bands around and all you need to do is give them a chance by listening to their work. They are exactly at the top of modern melodic death metal with roots deep in the history of the genre.
