Οι Black Stone Machine μας είναι γνώριμοι ήδη από τα πρώτα τους βήματα. Μάλιστα με το πρώτο ολοκληρωμένο άλμπουμ τους (διαβάστε το review μας ΕΔΩ) μας είχαν αφήσει τις καλύτερες εντυπώσεις όμως η καραντίνα και ο κορονοϊός τους εμπόδισε από το να μπορέσουν να προωθήσουν όπως έπρεπε τη δουλειά τους.
Τώρα έρχονται να μας υπενθυμίσουν την παρουσία τους παρουσιάζονταν ένα χαριτωμένο (καθότι μικρό σε διάρκεια) ep με δύο heavy weight συμμετοχές που δεν αφήνουν κανένα αδιάφορο. Το One With The Horde περιέχει τρία τραγούδια. Ένα νέο τραγούδι, ένα με 2 συμμετοχές στα φωνητικά και μια ακουστική εκδοχή του αγαπημένου μας Bounty Hunter. Το νέο τραγούδι Rebel Utopia υπογραμμίζει τις νότιες επιρροές της μπάντας και τρέχει σα καβαλάρης στην άγρια Δύση. Θα μπορούσε να θεωρηθεί και το sequel του Bounty Hunter με τις γρήγορες ταχύτητές του και τις Southern κιθάρες του. Το δεύτερο είναι ένα εντελώς “Motorhead Style” τραγούδι με τον τίτλο Rickenbastard 4004 με τη συμμετοχή του Μπάμπη Παπανικολάου ( Planet Of Zeus) και του Βαγγέλη Καρζή (ex-Rotting Christ, Wolfheart, Full House BC). Και τα δύο σηκώνουν πολλά λίτρα μπύρας ή αρωματικό bourbon. Μάλιστα είναι έτσι ηχογραφημένα ώστε το ένα να είναι συνέχεια του άλλου. Για το τέλος η ακουστική εκδοχή που παρουσιάζει μια πλευρά της μπάντας που ακούμε για πρώτη φορά και βρίσκουμε αρκετά ενδιαφέρουσα. Για την ακρίβεια αρκετά ενδιαφέρουσα ώστε να μπουν ενδεχομένως κάποια τέτοια φωνητικά σε μελλοντικές συνθέσεις. Πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα κυκλοφορία από τους νότιοθράσερς που μοναδικό της μελανό σημείο θεωρώ τα φωνητικά που ακούγονται «αρκετά βρώμικα» και «θαμμένα μες την παραγωγή. Βέβαια αυτό θα μπορούσε να είναι καλλιτεχνική επιλογή της μπάντας για να βγάλει ένα πιο ακατέργαστο ήχο που σε αυτή την περίπτωση, το πέτυχε.

We are quite familiar with Black Stone Machine ever since they were first formed. We actually had a special place in our top 10 list for their debut album (Read The Revie HERE) but covid 19 kept them from promoting their work properly.
At the moment they return in order to remind us of their presence with a cute (short in duration cute) ep with two heavy weight quest appearances that will get your neck banging. One With The Horde includes 3 songs. A new song, a song with two guest appearances and an acoustic version of our favorite Bounty Hunter. The new song Rebel Utopia highlights the southern influences of the band and runs at the speed of a rider in the Wild West. It could be considered as the sequel to Bounty Hunter with its speed and the southern guitars. The second song is completely “Motorhead Style”, its title is Rickenbastard 4004 with the guest appearances of Babis Papanikolaou ( Planet Of Zeus) and Vageliss Karzis (ex-Rotting Christ, Wolfheart, Full House BC). Both require large quantities of beer or a bourbon of your taste and they are recorded in a way that they are meant to be listened to in pairs. In the end the acoustic version shows a part of the band with clean vocals that can be used in the future further. Very interesting release by the southernthrashers and I think the only downside are the rough blurred in the back vocals that create a “dirty” “primal” sound. If this is an intentional choice, well done.
