Οι LEATHERHEAD είναι ένα speed/ thrash metal συγκρότημα από τη Λάρισα που δημιουργήθηκε το 2022. Κυκλοφόρησαν το ομώνυμο ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ τους 25 Οκτωβρίου 2024 και τώρα μέσα από τη δισκογραφική στέγη της No Remorse Records κυκλοφόρησαν το δεύτερο άλμπουμ τους Violent Horror Stories στις 13 Φεβρουαρίου 2026.
Ήδη από την πρώτη τους κυκλοφορία αλλά και από τα πολύ δυναμικά τους live shows έχουν τραβήξει την προσοχή του κοινού γιατί αυτό που παρουσιάζουν έχει μεράκι, πάθος αλλά και τεχνική! Συνήθως όταν μια μπάντα παίζει κάτι κοντά στον ήχο των LEATHERHEAD παίζει «άτσαλα» με την «δικαιολογία» της ακατέργαστης και πιο αθώας έκφρασης. Όμως οι Λαρισαίοι έχουν βάλει τον πήχη ψηλά και φροντίζουν να τον ξεπερνούν με κάθε κυκλοφορία! Στο Violent Horror Stories, οι συνθέσεις και οι εναλλαγές στους ρυθμούς μου θυμίζουν την ευρηματικότητα του Jeff Waters των ANNIHILATOR ενώ τα φωνητικά μου έφεραν στον μυαλό τον Midnight των CRIMSON GLORY. Τα παιξίματα είναι καλοδουλεμένα, τα riff πιασάρικα και γνήσια bangers ενώ η παραγωγή είναι ακριβώς όπως πρέπει ώστε να κολακεύει τις συνθέσεις και να αναδεικνύει το σύνολο.
Ξεχώρισα το Summoning The Dead αλλά και το ομότιτλο του άλμπουμ Violent Horror Stories. Αν έχουμε να περιμένουμε κάτι από τους LEATHERHEAD είναι μόνο προς το καλύτερο για αυτό και ανυπομονούμε για την επόμενη ζωντανή τους εμφάνιση στο release live του Violent Horror Stories που θα πραγματοποιηθεί το Σάββατο 21 Μαρτίου στο Skyland με special guests Darklon & Abusive.

LEATHERHEAD is a speed/thrash metal band from Larissa that was formed in 2022. They released their self-titled debut album on October 25, 2024, and now, under the No Remorse Records label, they released their second album, Violent Horror Stories, on February 13, 2026.
Ever since their first release—and thanks to their incredibly dynamic live shows—they’ve captured the public’s attention because what they present is full of passion, enthusiasm, and technical skill! Usually, when a band plays something close to LEATHERHEAD’s sound, they play “roughly” under the “pretext” of raw and more innocent expression. But the guys from Larissa have set the bar high and make sure to surpass it with every release! On Violent Horror Stories, the compositions and shifts in tempo remind me of the ingenuity of Jeff Waters of ANNIHILATOR, while the vocals brought to mind Midnight of CRIMSON GLORY. The playing is well-crafted, the riffs are catchy and genuine bangers, and the production is exactly as it should be to flatter the compositions and highlight the whole.
I particularly liked “Summoning The Dead” as well as the album’s title track, “Violent Horror Stories.” If we can expect anything from LEATHERHEAD, it’s only the best, so we’re eagerly awaiting their next live performance at the Violent Horror Stories release show, which will take place on Saturday, March 21, at Skyland, featuring special guests Darklon & Abusive.
