Όσοι έχετε ήδη ακούσει το άλμπουμ θα νοιώσατε την τρομακτική ενέργεια που απελευθερώνουν οι οκτώ συνθέσεις του. Το δέσιμο ανάμεσα στη σύνθεση και τη φωνητική απόδοση είναι μοναδικό και απαράμιλλο. Το The Illuminant προελαύνει μεθ’ ορμής ακάθεκτου από το πρώτο μέχρι και το τελευταίο του τραγούδι. Με μια απόκοσμη, αβυσσαλέα κραυγή και την ατρόμητη, μανιασμένη επίκληση: “Oh creatures of the Night, show me the way to the Moon” ξεκινάει αυτό το μεγαλειώδες, επικό ταξίδι στα άδυτα της εσωτερικής αναζήτησης, της φιλοσοφίας και της απόκρυφης κοσμικής νομοτέλειας. Θα ήταν άδικη και καταδικασμένη σε αποτυχία κάθε προσπάθεια περιγραφής με λόγια του μουσικού και ερμηνευτικού κράματος που υπάρχει μέσα σε κάθε σύνθεση. Δε μπορείς να περιγράψεις με λόγια την άβυσσο και το φλεγόμενο σκοτάδι. Το μόνο που μπορείς να κάνεις είναι να αφεθείς στην καθαρτική του δίνη, αν και εφόσον το επιθυμείς.

Το δημιούργημα των LUCIFER’S CHILD διαθέτει δική του αυτοτελή υπόσταση και μιλάει στον καθένα μας ξεχωριστά και διαφορετικά. Ο στίχος του και ο συμβολισμός του αφήνουν πλήρη ελευθερία ως προς την προσέγγιση και την κατανόηση του, σύμφωνα με την προσωπική κρίση, την οπτική και τα βιώματα του ακροατή. Και μιας και μιλάμε για συμβολισμό, δράττομαι της ευκαιρίας από το βήμα που μου δίνει αυτό το τόσο αξιόλογο μουσικό έργο να πω ότι αντιλαμβάνομαι πως κάποιοι, συστηματικά και διαχρονικά, σοκάρονται από την αρτιστική απεικόνιση, τη θεματολογία, το μουσικό ύφος και τα σύμβολα του Black Metal. Θέλω να τους πω ότι το ίδιο και περισσότερο σοκάρομαι και εγώ όταν βλέπω σφαγές και ομηρίες αμάχων, γενοκτονίες, παραβιάσεις ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων, ωμό και απροκάλυπτο βιασμό της φύσης και των πλασμάτων της από τον άνθρωπο. Άλλωστε πολλοί από εμάς αγαπάμε το Black Metal για την ειλικρίνεια, την ευθύτητα και το συμβολισμό του, που πολύ ορθά, επιλέγει να μην απεικονίζει τον παράδεισο εκεί που δεν υπάρχει.

Ακούω το The Illuminant ξανά και ξανά και μου είναι τρομερά δύσκολο έως και αδύνατο να ξεχωρίσω κάποιο κομμάτι του σαν πιο αγαπημένο. Από την άλλη δε θα ήμουν ειλικρινής εάν δεν έλεγα ότι στο Ichor χτυπάει η καρδιά του άλμπουμ. Ο Ιχώρ, το αιθέριο χρυσό υγρό  που είναι το αίμα των θεών αλλά και των αθανάτων  κατά την αρχαία ελληνική μυθολογία, είναι η εσωτερική μαύρη φλόγα που θα φωτίσει το συγκλονιστικό αυτό μουσικό ταξίδι μας μέσα στο βασίλειο της αιώνιας νύχτας.

Με το The Illuminant γράφτηκε ένα νέο, τρομερό κεφάλαιο, στη σκοτεινή Βίβλο του Ευρωπαϊκού και εν γένη Παγκόσμιου Black Metal. Η μυστικιστική αύρα του, η ωμή και ακατέργαστη μελωδία του, το απόκρυφο και μελαγχολικό συναίσθημα του, οδηγούν στο ζοφερό και απροσπέλαστο μονοπάτι και την απάτητη κορυφή που οι LUCIFER’S CHILD κατάφεραν να κατακτήσουν και δικαιωματικά πλέον, τους ανήκει.

LUCIFER’S CHILD release their third album entitled The Illuminant and they give us indescribable feelings and emotions. This album, like their previous one, is released by Agonia Records. The two founding members, George Emmanuel (guitar) and Marios Dupont (vocals) are joined by Nick Vell on drums, whom we met in 2018’s The Order, and newcomer Kosta Gerochristo on bass. George Emmanuel is behind the production, mastering and mixing, while the iconic artwork on the album’s cover belongs to Daniele Valeriani, known for his work with Dark Funeral, Mayhem and other metal groups.

Those of you who have already listened to the album will have felt the terrifying energy that the eight compositions release. The bond between the composition and the vocal performance is unique and unparalleled. The Illuminant marches onward with unstoppable momentum from its first song to its last. With an otherworldly, abysmal cry and the fearless, frantic plea, “Oh creatures of the Night, show me the way to the Moon” begins this grand, epic journey into the depths of inner quest, philosophy and arcane cosmic lawlessness. It would be unfair and doomed to failure any attempt to describe in words the musical and interpretive blend that exists within each composition. You cannot describe in words the abyss and the burning darkness. The only thing you can do is to let yourself go into its cathartic vortex, if and when you wish to do so.

The creation of LUCIFER’S CHILD has its own independent substance and speaks to each of us individually and differently. Its lyrics and symbolism leave complete freedom in terms of approach and understanding, according to the personal judgment, perspective and experiences of the listener. And speaking of symbolism, I take this opportunity from the platform provided by this so remarkable musical work to say that I realize that some people, systematically and over time, are shocked by the artifactual imagery, themes, musical style and symbols of Black Metal. I want to tell them that I am equally and even more shocked when I see massacres and hostage-taking of civilians, genocide, human rights violations, raw and blatant rape of nature and its creatures by man. After all, many of us love Black Metal for its honesty, straightforwardness and symbolism, which quite rightly, chooses not to depict paradise where it does not exist.

I listen to The Illuminant over and over again and it’s terribly difficult or even impossible for me to pick out a track as my favorite. On the other hand, I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t say that Ichor is where the heart of the album beats. Ichor, the ethereal golden liquid that is the blood of the gods and immortals according to ancient Greek mythology, is the inner black flame that will illuminate this thrilling musical journey through the realm of eternal night.

With The Illuminant a new, terrible chapter has been written in the dark bible of European and indeed World Black Metal. Its mystical aura, its raw and crude melody, its occult and melancholic feeling, lead to the gloomy and inaccessible path and the infallible peak that LUCIFER’S CHILD managed to conquer and rightfully belongs to them now.

Lucifer’s Child reveal the second new song from their upcoming split EP with Mystifier called Nova Tenebris.

As they mention “To the children of the Lesser Light, We are thrilled to reveal “Nova Tenebris“.

This new song is taken from our upcoming split EP release “Under Satan’s Wrath” which is coming out on March 25th via Agonia Records . Nova Tenebris, pictures Solomon’s eerie traditions and rituals in contemplation of reaching an unworldly state of power.
