“Το συγκεκριμένο δισκογραφικό συμβόλαιο που κάναμε την εποχή που υπογράψαμε για το album Icon σήμαινε ότι δεν θα είχαμε ποτέ τα δικαιώματα της μουσικής μας ή του εξώφυλλου, οπότε για να επαναεκδώσουμε το άλμπουμ για την 30η επέτειο, ήταν απαραίτητο να το ηχογραφήσουμε ξανά και να ξανακάνουμε από την αρχή εντελώς το εξώφυλλο. And while everyone is waiting for the release of the anniversary edition and re-recording of their legendary album Icon in December as well as their appearance at Fuzz on the 10th of the same month, PARADISE LOST release the first sample from the 30th anniversary edition of Icon, with Widow.

The band stated:

“Our specific record deal around the time we signed for the Icon album meant we would never actually own the rights to our music or artwork, so going forward, to reissue the album ourselves for the 30th anniversary, it was necessary to re-record and completely re-do the album cover.
Re-recording Icon has not only enabled us to release it as a series of collectors editions on vinyl but it was also great to revisit some songs from a lifetime ago. Nothing can replace those original recordings or ever will, they are a nostalgic part of all our lives but it has been a lot of fun revisiting those early MFN days once again, and I hope the end result displays that”.

The re-recorded version of Icon is scheduled for release on December 1.
