Δεν αποτελεί έκπληξη η επιλογή ενός κομματιού μέσα από την δισκογραφία των LYNYRD SKYNYRD, καθώς το συγκρότημα αποτελεί μία από τις μεγάλες επιρροές των  CORROSION OF CONFORMITY. Ο Mike Dean πρόσθεσε τα εξής για την συγκεκριμένη διασκευή:

“Αυτό είναι το δυσεύρετο αφιέρωμά μας στους LYNYRD SKYNYRD, μια σημαντική επιρροή των CORROSION OF CONFORMITY. Με τον πρόσφατο θάνατο του σπουδαίου Gary Rossington, του τελευταίου εν ζωή αρχικού μέλους των LYNYRD SKYNYRD, σκεφτήκαμε ότι θα ήταν μια καλή στιγμή να κάνουμε αυτή τη γιορτή των SKYNYRD πιο ευρέως διαθέσιμη”.

Το On The Hunt κυκλοφόρησε αρχικά το 1975 και περιλαμβάνετε στο album των LYNYRD SKYNYRD, Nuthin’ Fancy της ίδιας χρονιάς.

A few days before the start of their European tour, CORROSION OF CONFORMITY released a new single. On The Hunt, as it is titled, is not a new composition of their own, but a cover of a song by LYNYRD SKYNYRD.

It’s not surprising that the band chose a track from LYNYRD SKYNYRD‘s discography, as the band is one of the big influences of CORROSION OF CONFORMITY. Mike Dean added the following about this particular cover:

“This is our hard to find tribute to LYNYRD SKYNYRD, a major influence of COC. With the recent passing of the great Gary Rossington, the last living original member of LYNYRD SKYNYRD , we thought it would be a good time to make this celebration of SKYNYRD more widely available.”

On The Hunt was originally released in 1975 and was included on LYNYRD SKYNYRD‘s album Nuthin’ Fancy of the same year.
