Σε ερώτηση αν το δεύτερο άλμπουμ των THE HALO EFFECT αποτελεί “συνέχεια” του “Days Of The Lost”, το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε πέρυσι, ο Stanne είπε: “Ναι, έτσι νομίζω. Νομίζω ότι ο Niclas και ο Jesper είχαν μεγαλύτερη αυτοπεποίθηση όσον αφορά τη σύνθεση των τραγουδιών τους, όπου είναι, όπως, “Ναι, αυτό θα λειτουργήσει”. Και υπάρχουν και κάποιοι ωραίοι πειραματισμοί στο άλμπουμ, αλλά μερικά από τα τραγούδια είναι απλά ξεκάθαρα, σαν να μην υπάρχουν ερωτήσεις. Είναι τόσο εύκολα και τόσο στο θέμα, ξέρεις. Οπότε είναι κάπως διασκεδαστικό όταν παίρνω την demo έκδοση ενός τραγουδιού και αρχίζω να σκέφτομαι τους στίχους και τα φωνητικά, είναι σαν να βγάζει νόημα. Απλά το ξέρω απ’ έξω. Είναι τόσο εύκολο. Το οποίο είναι – είναι περίεργο, αλλά είναι σαν να μου μιλάει με έναν τρόπο που λέω: “Εντάξει, ξέρω ακριβώς τι να κάνω και μπορώ να το τελειώσω μέσα σε λίγες μέρες”. Έτσι νιώθω μερικές φορές. Απλά ακούς ένα τραγούδι και λες, ‘Ναι, το ξέρω ήδη αυτό. Ξέρω ακριβώς τι να κάνω. Και θα είναι υπέροχο”.

Οι THE HALO EFFECT παρουσίασαν για πρώτη φορά δύο ολοκαίνουργια τραγούδια, τα “Become Surrender” και “The Defiant One“, κατά τη διάρκεια της περιοδείας τους στη Σουηδία τον Φεβρουάριο του 2023. Μιλώντας στο MoreCore.TV για την απόφαση να παρουσιάσουν νέο υλικό πριν αυτό ηχογραφηθεί και κυκλοφορήσει επίσημα, ο Mikael δήλωσε “Αποφασίσαμε να [δοκιμάσουμε λίγο το νερό], να δούμε αν ο κόσμος γουστάρει το νέο υλικό που γράφουμε. Όχι ότι είναι εξαιρετικά διαφορετικό, αλλά και πάλι… Και ήταν διασκεδαστικό να δοκιμάζουμε πράγματα και να βλέπουμε αν αρέσει στον κόσμο. Και φαίνεται να το γουστάρουν. THE HALO EFFECT, the new project featuring five former members of the Swedish metal band IN FLAMES — Jesper Strömblad (guitar),Daniel Svensson (drums),Peter Iwers (bass),Niclas Engelin (guitar) and Mikael Stanne (vocals) — recently completed mixing its sophomore album. In a new interview with Finland’s Chaoszine, Stanne stated about the upcoming LP: “It’s done, and it sounds awesome. But, yeah, we were [originally] supposed to do an EP [instead of a full-length album] — we had that kind of plan — but then we realized, ‘Ah, maybe not.’ So now we’re gonna release the album beginning of next year and starting with singles and that kind of stuff soon. So it’s really exciting, because we worked really hard just to fit into all of our schedules to make sure that the album was kind of done in time, and then we figured out like a release schedule and a release date and all that stuff. So it’s been — not stressful, but we did a lot during a short period of time, which ended up being fantastic just because it turned out a much more confident album, I think. It’s very focused and you can, you can probably tell — at least from the people that I’ve played it to — that whereas the first time was kind of, like, ‘Hey, let’s figure out what we wanna do,’ whereas this is kind of, like, ‘This is exactly what we wanna do.'”

He added: “So it’s, it’s gonna be interesting. I can’t wait to have people hear it because I’m incredibly proud of it.”

Asked if the second THE HALO EFFECT album is a “continuation” of “Days Of The Lost”, which came out last year, Stanne said: “Yeah, I think so. I think Niclas and Jesper were more confident in terms of their songwriting, where it’s, like, ‘Yeah, this is gonna work.’ And there are some cool experimentation on the album as well, but some of the songs are just like straight up, like there’s no questions. It’s just so easy and so to the point, you know. So it’s kind of fun when I get the demo version of a song, and I start thinking about lyrics and vocals, it’s, like, it just makes sense. I just know this by heart. It’s so easy. Which is — it is weird, but it’s just, like, it speaks to me in a way that where I go like, ‘Okay, I know exactly what to do and I can finish it in a matter of days.’ That’s sometimes how it feels. You just hear a song and you go, like, ‘Yep, I know this already. I know exactly what to do. And it’s gonna be great.”

THE HALO EFFECT debuted two brand new songs, “Become Surrender” and “The Defiant One”, during its February 2023 Swedish tour. Speaking to MoreCore.TV about the decision to perform new material before it is officially recorded and released, Mikael said: “We decided to [test the water a little bit], see if people are into the new stuff that we’re writing. Not that it’s super different, but still… And it’s been fun to kind of, yeah, try things out and see if people are into it. And they seem to be digging it. So we’re really excited.”

Λίγο πριν ανέβουν στη σκηνή του θρυλικού Sweden Rock festival, η μπάντα αποκαλύπτει ακόμα ένα μελωδικό death metal διαμάντι, που οδηγεί στο πολυαναμενόμενο ντεμπούτο άλμπουμ τους “Days Of The Lost“, το οποίο θα κυκλοφορήσει στις 12 Αυγούστου μέσω της Nuclear Blast.

Ο frontman Mikael Stanne μιλάει για το κομμάτι: “Το “The Needless End” ασχολείται με την παραλυτική αδυναμία αντιμετώπισης αφηρημένων προβλημάτων. Θέματα που απλά φαίνονται πολύ μεγάλα ή ακατανόητα μένουν στο περιθώριο προκειμένου να ασχοληθούμε με πιο άμεσα αλλά λιγότερο σημαντικά ζητήματα. Καταλήγουμε κάπου όχι επειδή το θέλουμε αλλά επειδή δεν μπορέσαμε να καταλάβουμε τι έπρεπε να κάνουμε. Υπάρχει μια ένταση σε αυτό το τραγούδι και μια ανεβαστική μελωδία που νομίζω ότι ταιριάζει σε αυτή την ιδέα. Ανάμεσα σε όλο τον θυμό και την αγανάκτηση είναι επίσης ελπιδοφόρο και έχει ένα μεταδοτικό groove και ορμή.”

Three singles have been released so far by the new Gothenburg outfit THE HALO EFFECT and they have raised a lot of attention and praise in the media and fan world.

Just before hitting the stage at legendary Sweden Rock festival, the band yet reveals another melodic death metal gem,  leading up to their highly anticipated debut album “Days Of The Lost”, to be released on August 12^th via Nuclear Blast.

Frontman Mikael Stanne tells about the track: “The Needless End deals with the crippling inability to deal with abstract problems. Issues that just seem too huge or incomprehensible falls by the wayside in order to deal with more immediate but less important issues. We end up somewhere not because we want to but because we were unable to understand what we needed to do. There is an intensity to this song and a uplifting melody that I think suits this idea. Among all the anger and resentment it’s also hopeful and has an infectious groove and drive.”

The single comes along with a track video.

Ο “Metal: Hellsinger” είναι ένα ρυθμικό first-person shooter (FPS) παιχνίδι, που η δυνατότητά σου να πυροβολείς στο ρυθμός σου βελτιώνει την εμπειρία του παιχνιδιού. Όσο πιο πολύ στο ρυθμό είσαι τόσο πιο έντονη γίνεται η μουσική και τόσο μεγαλύτερη καταστροφή προκαλείς.

Νίκησε ορδές από δαίμονες με ένα σπαθί που στη βάση του έχει ένα κρανίο, ή ένα ευρύ φάσμα από φονικά όπλα. Κάθε όπλο έχει την δική του υπέρτατη δύναμη όπως το Murder of Crows ή το The Big Goodbye.

Το “Metal: Hellsinger” θα κυκλοφορήσει για PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X και PC το 2021.
