Μέσα από τον νέο δίσκο, το συγκρότημα δημοσίευσε ένα single/lyric video για το κομμάτι Forever Free. Σχετικά με το single, ο drummer του συγκροτήματος και υιός του Udo, Sven σχολίασε:

The timeless and tireless Udo with his personal band, releases another album in his already existing long career. The title of the new album, Touchdown and is due out August 25th via Atomic Fire Records.

The band has released a single/lyric video from the new album, for the track Forever Free. About the single, the band’s drummer and Udo‘s son Sven commented:

“Forever Free is supposed to make people not simply believe facts they hear or get shown, for example by media, but to think individually. Of course, we don’t mean that one should question everything. The song shall just express that it’s better to create own opinions about conflicts and other topics one stands for, even when they’re wrong sometimes, than to follow the mass blindly. It’s a musical tribute to our privilege of living in a free world as we luckily can”.

Για να το κάνουμε να μοιάζει ακόμα περισσότερο με τραγούδι από τα προηγούμενα άλμπουμ, δεν υπάρχουν μεγάλα διαλείμματα, κιθαριστικά σόλο ή άλλοι περισπασμοί. With their new album War Against All being released today via Nuclear Blast, IMMORTAL have released a new lyric video.

The track chosen from within the new album is Return To Cold, for which the band’s mastermind and remaining member Demonaz commented the following:

“Return To Cold was the second song I wrote for this album. The guitar work is in the old insisting IMMORTAL style with just a handful of riffs. To make it feel even more like a song from the earlier albums, there is no big breaks, guitar solos, or other distractions. A powerful open main riff together with the majestic harmony and gloomy clean guitars created the frame for another atmospheric, distinct and characteristic IMMORTAL song.

The lyrics was written outside, on my walk through the forest, up the mountainside, to the cold windy tops, embracing the power and the timeless feel from winter – It is a definite return to cold, and like the rest of the album…a tribute to the longstanding IMMORTAL fans”.

With their new album War Against All almost a month away from release, IMMORTAL have released their second single.

The single/lyric video is for the track Wargod, about which the band’s mastermind, Demonaz, had this to say on their social media page:

“Wargod is the heaviest song on the album. CELTIC FROST‘s album To Mega Therion from 1986 was an inspiration to me this time. Some of it’s classic tracks had heavy opening riffs that developed into fast devastating fury and tempo. I wanted to capture that feeling again, the IMMORTAL way. When i moved to the mountains In 2019 I went through some of my old material and unused lyrics. Wargod was one of them. The title, lyric and song ideas were originally from the early nineties, and now finally Immortal-ized on the album.

Today,Norwegian metallers Immortal, released the first sample from their new album. The black metallers who started their career in 1992, adds another release to their eventful career. 

The single is the title track of the new, 10th full length album War Against All, which is expected to be released on May 26th via Nuclear Blast. The album is the band’s second release since the departure of Abbath Doom Occulta in 2015.

With Demonaz Doom Occulta now being the sole founding member, Immortal seem to be keeping their sonic return to the early days of the band, something that started on 2018’s Northern Chaos Gods.

”I had so much fun not only writing a song for my voice, but also for Michi, one of the greatest singers out there. I always have an extremely broad smile on my face when I hear him singing my melodies“,says Deris and Kiske adds:”The whole process, including the spirit, was just ideal. If I had the feeling that one of the parts would not be really fitting, I asked Andi if he would sing it and vice versa. There was no competition whatsoever – what counted was what is best for the respective song. I am thankful to be (again) a part of this crazy family. I love them all”.

Serj Tankian has unveiled a lyric video for the song “Your Mom”. The clip was directed by artist and animator David Bradford, who has worked with Tankian on solo projects as well as projects with SYSTEM OF A DOWN.

Bradford explains his concept for the “Your Mom” clip: “As I listened to the beginning of the song, with the more mellow acoustic guitar, I envisioned a brave bird flying over a countryside, unaware of the danger waiting in the ashen, war-torn lands ahead. This didn’t stop the bird from gliding into danger and took the form of ‘Your Mom’. As the fighters continue their campaign of destroying the Earth with their bombs and chaos, the mom summons the strength from her connection to Mother Earth and becomes the personification of justice against the fighters. She kicks their asses and returns to the form of a bird, perched on the carcasses of the destroyers and restores the Earth’s balance.”

“Your Mom” is the third song from Tankian‘s five-track EP “Elasticity” to receive a visual accompaniment, with the Los Angeles- and New Zealand-based musician previously releasing both the Vlad Kaptur-directed video for “Elasticity” and the politically charged “Electric Yerevan” video.

“Elasticity” is available now digitally and on CD, with the galaxy-colored vinyl version of the album arriving on April 30. A collection of autographed, and limited-edition “Elasticity”-themed merchandise can also be found on the Tankian webstore.
