Ο Gus Drax είναι ένας από του καλύτερους κιθαρίστες που υπάρχουν αυτή τη στιγμή στο παγκόσμιο μουσικό στερέωμα. Αν με ρωτάτε, θεωρώ πως έχει το natural μουσικό ταλέντο αλλά (όπως θα έλεγε και ο ίδιος νομίζω) αυτό δεν φτάνει για να σε φτάσει εκέι που μπορεί να ποθείς να φτάσεις και να εξελιχθείς ως μουσικός. Ο Gus Drax έχει δουλέψει και εξακολουθεί να δουλεύει πάρα πολύ σκληρά, με αφοσίωση, πειθαρχία, σεβασμό και τεράστια αγάπη για αυτό που κάνει, ώστε να καλλιεργεί και να εξελίσει συνεχώς αυτό το μουσικό του ταλέντο και να φτάσει αυτή τη στιγμή να είναι ένα από του καλύτερους κιθαρίστες παγκοσμίως.

Ξεκίνησε να ασχολείτε με την κιθάρα στα 14 του, κάποια χρόνια αργότερα έγινε μέλος των Biomechanical, το 2009 ένωσε τις δυνάμεις του με τους Black Fate και το 2010 έγινε συνιδρύτης στους πολυαγαπημένους Sunburst. Το 2016 μπήκε στην παρέα των Suicidal Angels, από τους οποίους αποχώρησε στις αρχές του 2025. Το πρώτο προσωπικό album του Gus Drax , In Search of Perfection, κυκλοφόρησε το 2010 και 16 χρόνια μέτα ήρθε επιτέλους η στιγμή που ο Gus μας ανακοινώνει την κυκλοφορία του δεύτερου προσωπικού του album που θα ακούει στο όνομα Theories of Imperfection  και θα κυκλοφορήσει στις 3 Απριλίου 2026 από την Theogonia Records.

Στα τύμπανα καθόλη την διάρκει του Theories of Imperfection θα ακούμε τον μοναδικό George Kollias (Nile, Royal Time Machine). Δηλαδή επεξεργάσου το λίγο: Gus Drax στην κιθάρα και Γιώργος Κόλλιας στα τύμπανα…και φαντάσου τι έχουν να ακούσουν τα αυτάκια σου. Οι εκπλήξεις όμως δεν σταματάνε εκεί αφού ο Andy James (Five Finger Death Punch) θα σολάρει στο Cosmic Shadow, ο John Koutselinis, καταξιωμένος μουσικός και βραβευμένος film score composer, έχει συνεργαστεί στα Sentio Ergo Sum, Nocturnal Waltz και Final Atonement  και ο Λευτέρης Πουλιού με το υπέροχο σαξόφωνο του συμμετέχει στο Ethereal Horizon.

Το πρώτο single και video clip από το Theories of Imperfection  δόθηκε στην δημοσιότητα πριν λίγες ώρες, ακούει στο όνομα Sentio Ergo Sum, ε και το μόνο σίγουρο είναι ότι δεν θα βρεις κανένα imperfection in it. Είναι ένας χείμαρρος μουσικής δεξιοτεχνίας, μελωδικότητας και συναισθήματος με ξεκάθαρο αέρα και άρωμα Gus Drax. Στο μπάσο βρίσκουμε τον Giorgos Charalampidis. Το βίντεο κλιπ είναι δια χειρός Bob Κατσιώνη και Αλέξανδρου Χαριτάκη.

Όπως γράφτηκε στην δημοσίευση της Theogonia Records: “Το Sentio Ergo Sum είναι το πρώτο κομμάτι από το πολυαναμενόμενο νέο σόλο άλμπουμ του Gus Drax, Theories of Imperfection. Gus Drax is one of the best guitarists currently on the global music scene. If you ask me, I think he has natural musical talent, but, as I think he himself would say, that’s not enough to get you where you want to be and develop as a musician. Gus Drax has worked and continues to work very hard, with dedication, discipline, respect, and enormous love for what he does, in order to cultivate and continuously develop his musical talent and become one of the best guitarists in the world.

He started playing guitar at the age of 14 and he joined Biomechanical a few years later. In 2009 he joined forces with Black Fate and in 2010 he co-founded our beloved Sunburst. In 2016, he joined Suicidal Angels, with which he parted ways in early 2025. Gus Drax‘s first solo album, In Search of Perfection, was released in 2010 and 16 years later Gus has finally announced the release of his second solo album, Theories of Imperfection, which will be released on April 3rd 2026, by Theogonia Records.

Throughout Theories of Imperfection we will hear the unique George Kollias (Nile, Royal Time Machine) on drums. So, think about it: Gus Drax on guitar and George Kollias on drums… and imagine what your ears are in for. But the surprises don’t stop there as Andy James (Five Finger Death Punch) will be featured and will be shredding on Cosmic Shadow, John Koutselinis, an acclaimed musician and award-winning film score composer has collaborated on Sentio Ergo Sum, Nocturnal Waltz και Final Atonement and Lefteris Pouliou with his wonderful saxophone, participates in Ethereal Horizon.

The first single and video clip from Theories of Imperfection was released a few hours ago. It is called Sentio Ergo Sum and one thing is certain: you will find no imperfection in it. It is a torrent of musical virtuosity, melody, and emotion with a distinct Gus Drax vibe and essence. Giorgos Charalampidis is on the bass and the video clip was directed and produced by Bob Katsionis and Alexander Haritakis.

As written in the publication by Theogonia Records : “Sentio Ergo Sum is the opening track from Gus Drax’s highly anticipated new solo album, Theories of Imperfection. For the time being all we have to do is listen to Sentio Ergo Sum  on repeat and wait patiently to lose ourselves in all the other magical musical paths Gus Drax has in store of us in his Theories of Imperfection.

Μερικές φορές, ένα τραγούδι χρειάζεται χρόνο για να φτάσει στην τελική του μορφή. Το «We Should Be Buried Like This» είναι μια απόδειξη αυτής της διαδικασίας, όπως εξηγεί το συγκρότημα:

«Το ρεφρέν του «We Should Be Buried Like This» πέρασε από διάφορες εκδοχές στα demo μας για σχεδόν δύο χρόνια πριν τελικά μπει στη θέση του. Βελτιώσαμε περαιτέρω το τραγούδι στον χώρο των προβών, διαμορφώνοντας το στην τελική του μορφή – ένα άγριο κράμα του παλαιότερου και του νεότερου ήχου των Bloodred Hourglass, με τον τίτλο και τους στίχους να στέκονται ως δήλωση για το τέλος των πραγμάτων που είναι μπροστά μας, πάντα αναπόφευκτο αργά ή γρήγορα».

Το “ Thread & Thrum” είναι το τελευταίο τραγούδι που ηχογράφησε ο Νικήτας Δάνος πριν φύγει για το τελευταίο ταξίδι του, αυτό προς το φως.

Μετά τον άδικο χαμό του, βρεθήκαμε τα υπόλοιπα μέλη και το συζητήσαμε. Θεωρήσαμε καλό να κάνουμε το συγκεκριμένο τραγούδι βίντεο και να το κυκλοφορήσουμε σαν tribute για τον αδελφό μας που έφυγε νωρίς. Για έναν υπέροχο άνθρωπο, με υπέροχη ψυχή.

Το “ Thread & Thrum” ηχογραφήθηκε ξανά, με την παρούσα σύνθεση και θα βρίσκεται στον επόμενο δίσκο των ILLUSORY, ο οποίος θα κυκλοφορήσει μέσα στο 2025.

NEW VIDEO for the Athenians Degenerate Mind, a few months before the official release of their 2nd full length album entitled VORTEX!

The track of the Athenians’ second album is called “Nothing Left” and it has all those elements that refer to the new direction of the band. The video is a production of “Singloud TV” in collaboration with the well known and not exceptional Alexandros Haritakis who took care of the filming/editing of the video.

The band’s performing was done at “Manos Backline Services-MB Studios“, while the actress Eleni Evtaxopoulou is starring in the exterior shots.

The script of the video is a product of cooperation between Evtaxopoulou/Haritaki.

PARADISE LOST guitarist Greg Mackintosh seems to be particularly productive as apart from the re-recording and release of Icon for his 30th birthday, his other musical vehicle, that of STRIGOI, announced the release of a new EP.

Bathed In A Black Sun is its title, and will feature 4 tracks left off the band’s first record released in 2022, Viscera.

The band’s bassist Chris Casket said of the EP:

“We are pleased to finally do this, as ultimately Bathed In A Black Sun as a track is lamentably all the more relevant today than it was when it was written. We also wanted to release this EP as a companion to the album Viscera, so finally all the tracks recorded during that studio session are available for all to ‘enjoy’ the extra cuts of raging spite and cold despair.”

Along with the announcement of the new EP, the band also released the first single for the title track. The Bathed In A Black Sun EP is scheduled for release on November 3.

Το video,το οποίο επιμελήθηκε ο Claudio Marino, είναι ομολογουμένως λίγο παράξενο και σύμφωνα με δηλώσεις της μπάντας, απεικονίζει τις δυσκολίες και πιθανότατα τον τρόμο του waterboarding. Στο video δεν παρουσιάζονται ηθοποιοί ή οπτικά εφέ,κάτι που κάνει την εμπειρία ακόμα πιο αληθινή. Όπως είπαν και οι ίδιοι:

“Συμπληρώνοντας το ακουστικό ταξίδι του τραγουδιού, η εικαστική απεικόνιση/ video που συνοδεύει το Dormant εμβαθύνει στην αγωνία και τον αγώνα για επιβίωση.

Τα εικαστικά απεικονίζουν τον κύριο χαρακτήρα, παγιδευμένο και κλεισμένο σε έναν βασανιστικό κόσμο, καθώς το νερό χύνεται ανελέητα πάνω στο σώμα του, προσομοιάζοντας τον πνιγμό και την ασφυξία. Αυτή η καθηλωτική και σπλαχνική εμπειρία προσφέρει μια οδυνηρή ματιά στον αγώνα του πρωταγωνιστή για τη ζωή, προκαλώντας μια σειρά συναισθημάτων και προκαλώντας τους θεατές να αντιμετωπίσουν τη δική τους θνητότητα”.

Το νέο τους single, το οποίο φέρει τον τίτλο Iku-Turso συνεχίζει τόσο το μουσικό όσο και το θεματολογικό χαρακτήρα της τελευταίας τους δουλειάς. Σχετικά με το κομμάτι, ο ιθύνων νους του συγκροτήματος Tuomas Saukkonen ανέφερε τα εξής:

“Φαίνεται ότι σε κάθε concept άλμπουμ που φτιάχνουμε υπάρχει μια ιστορία που μένει πίσω και αξίζει μια συνέχεια του θέματος. Το προηγούμενο μας άλμπουμ “King Of The North” επικεντρώθηκε πλήρως στη φινλανδική μυθολογία και κάναμε διεξοδική δουλειά καλύπτοντας τα πάντα, από τη δημιουργία του σκανδιναβικού βασιλείου μέχρι τους ημίθεους της φινλανδικής φύσης. Αλλά ένα πραγματικά αρχέγονο και κακόβουλο πλάσμα, το θαλάσσιο τέρας που ονομάζεται Iku-Turso, έμεινε πίσω και τώρα επιστρέφουμε για να αφηγηθούμε την ιστορία για το κυνήγι αυτού του τέρατος που πίστευαν ότι ήταν επίσης ο θεός του πολέμου”.

Always creative and productive, the Finnish melodic death metallers WOLFHEART, released a new single in video form while touring for their latest, highly successful album “King Of The North”.

The new single, which is titled Iku-Turso, continues both the musical and thematic character of their latest work. About the track, the band’s mastermind Tuomas Saukkonen said the following:

“Seems like with each concept album we make there is one story that is left behind and deserves a sequel to the theme. Our previous full length “King Of The North” was fully focused on Finnish Mythology and we did thorough job covering everything between creation of the Nordic realm to the demigods of Finnish nature. But one truly primeval and malevolent creature, sea monster called Iku-Turso was left behind and now we are back to tell the story about a hunt of this beast that was also believed to be the god of war”

PRONG‘s thirteenth studio album, “State Of Emergency”, will arrive on October 6 via Steamhammer/SPV. The official music video for the LP’s third single, “The Descent”, can be seen below.
