Το Oh What The Future Holds είναι το 6ο στούντιο άλμπουμ των FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε στις 14 Ιανουαρίου 2022 μέσω της Nuclear Blast και αποτελείται από 10 κομμάτια, συνολικής διάρκειας 45 λεπτών μέσα στα οποία θα ακούσουμε απροκάλυπτα όλα αυτά που μας επιφυλάσσει το μέλλον, το οποίο το κρατάμε οι ίδιοι στα χέρια μας. Είτε αυτό έχει να κάνει με την πίστη, το μίσος, το περιβάλλον ακόμα και τον ιό που άλλαξε τις ζωές μας, το μήνυμα είναι ένα…”Ένας κόσμος που οδηγείται από την εξαφάνιση, καταλήγει μόνο στην εξαφάνιση”.

Από τα δύο κιόλας πρώτα κομμάτια του άλμπουμ οι FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY μας δίνουν παχιά riffs και κολακευτικές μελωδίες κι έτσι σίγουρα καταφέρνουν να κατοχυρώσουν την προσοχή μας.  Συνεχίζοντας την ακρόαση η μπάντα μας δείχνει πως δεν χρειάζεται πάντα ο ρυθμός να κινείται στη μέγιστη ταχύτητα για να είναι ποδοπατητικός. Με αργό και σταδιακό χτίσιμο οι κιθάρες από τους Pat Sheridan, Tim Howley και Will Putney (που έγραψε και έκανε την παραγωγή στο μεγαλύτερο μέρος του άλμπουμ) είναι ικανές να γκρεμίσουν τους τοίχους σας, με το μπάσο και τα ντραμς φυσικά να υποστηρίζουν αυτό το κατεδαφιστικό έδαφος και τον Joe Badolato να σε παρασέρνει σαν ανεμοστρόβιλος με το εύρος του. Αυτός ο δυναμισμός όμως συνδυάζεται με συχνά μελωδικά τόξα, πολυεπίπεδα φωνητικά και “τόσο όσο” μουσικούς πειραματισμούς οι οποίοι φέρνουν ένα νέο στυλιστικό ύφος στον συνολικό ήχο των Αμερικανών.

Η ποικιλομορφία που επιδεικνύουν οι FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY στο Oh What The Future Holds είναι μία ισχυρή επιβεβαίωση μιας μπάντας που λειτουργεί σε πλήρη δημιουργικό ρυθμό και δεν φοβάται να ανοίξει νέους δρόμους,  προσφέροντας μια ομοιογενή και δυνατή εμπειρία ακρόασης. Aπ’ ότι φαίνεται οι  FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY άρπαξαν το μέλλον τους απ’ τα μαλλιά και εμείς ανυπομονούμε να δούμε τι μας επιφυλάσσουν από δω και πέρα.

Americans FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY were introduced to us as a deathcore band, in 2011 with The Process of Human Extermination . With the departure of Nate Johnson and the addition of Joe Badolato as the band’s vocalist, FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY started to expand into more post-deathcore sounds and with their next three albums they showed us that they are a band that has the ability to evolve.

Oh What The Future Holds is FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY‘s 6th studio album which was released on January 14, 2022 via Nuclear Blast and consists of 10 tracks, totaling 45 minutes in which we get to hear overtly all that the future (which by the way which hold in our own hands) holds in store for us, . Whether it has to do with faith, hate, the environment and even the virus that changed our lives, the message is this… “A world driven by extinction only ends in extinction.”

From the very first two tracks of the album FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY give us thick riffs and flattering melodies and thus they definitely manage to hold our attention.  As we continue listening, the band shows us that you don’t always need the rhythm to be moving at top speed to be foot-stomping. With a slow and gradual build up the guitars from Pat Sheridan, Tim Howley and Will Putney (who wrote and produced most of the album) are capable of breaking down your walls, with the bass and drums of course supporting this demolition ground and Joe Badolato carrying you along like a whirlwind with his range. But this dynamism is combined with frequent melodic arcs, layered vocals and “just enough” musical experimentation that bring a new stylistic flavour to the overall sound of the Americans.

The diversity that FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY display on Oh What The Future Holds is a strong confirmation of a band that is operating at full creative speed and not afraid to break new ground, offering a homogeneous and powerful listening experience. It seems FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY have grabbed their future by the hair and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us from now on.
