Γεννημένοι από τις στάχτες των Dawn Of Disease και με την προσθήκη της εκρηκτικής Britta Görtz (Critical Mess, ex-Cripper) στα φωνητικά αυτή η μπάντα παρουσιάζει ένα ήχο πουεμπεριέχει στοιχεία από Arch Enemy εποχής Angela, Insomnium, Amon Amarth, At The Gates αλλά και κάποιες thrash πινελιές που μοιάζουν είναι τα χαρακτηριστικά της νέας γενιάς του μελωδικού death όπως αυτό αποτυπώνεται και στον ήχο των Φινλανδών Bloodred Hourglass αλλά και των Βρετανών Sylosis. Μελωδίες καλοδουλεμένες, μεστές, ογκώδης με το μοναδικό χαρακτηριστικό ότι ενώ είναι βαθιά μελωδικές δεν θυσιάζουν σταγόνα από τα guts τους. Κιθάρες με πιασάρικα riff, γεμάτα μελωδία και δύναμη, στίχοι φτιαγμένοι για να τραγουδάει μαζί όλο το κοινό, τύμπανα καταιγιστικά και μια ερμηνεία από τη Britta στα φωνητικά που εμένα προσωπικά μου κάνει πολύ. Όχι μόνο στο ερμηνευτικό κομμάτι, αλλά και για το επιπλέον χαρακτηριστικό ότι δεν «εκμεταλλεύεται» τη θηλυκότητά της για να γίνει αρεστή αλλά υπηρετεί το τραγούδι, πράγμα που μας είπε και στη συνέντευξη που μας παραχώρησαν μαζί με τον κιθαρίστα και βασικό συνθέτη της μπάντας Lukas Kerk. Με τραγούδια όπως το 1000 lights (έπος), Solitary, Under Fire, Running Out Of Time, Outshine (θα τα γράψω όλα…) οι Hiraes δεν αξίζουν απλά την προσοχή μας την απαιτούν και μας αποζημιώνουν με κάθε νότα! Αναρωτιέμαι αν ακούγονται τόσο εκρηκτικοί στην ηχογράφηση πως θα είναι πάνω στη σκηνή; Σημειώστε αυτό το όνομα και ακούστε τους τώρα… με ευχαριστείτε αργότερα.

I must confess pressing play to listen to this band I was rather doubtful. A woman singing in growls , “let’s use the old successful recipe” and play melodic death. Ok, go on Hiraes, impress me, I thought to myself… And they didn’t impress me, they made me a fan, just by listening to their debut Solitary out now on Napalm Records!

Born from the ashes of Dawn Of Disease with the addition of the explosive Britta Görtz (Critical Mess, ex-Cripper) on the vocals this band presents a sound that mixes specks of Arch Enemy (Angela era), Insomnium, Amon Amarth, At The Gates but also some thrashy elements which bring to mind the new wave of melodic death metal as you can trace it to bands such as the Bloodred Hourglass or Sylosis. Melodies that show how well established they are, luscious, vast, with the unique characteristic that even thought they are deeply melodic they don’t sacrifice a single drop of their guts! Guitars with catchy riffs, full of melody and power, lyrics made to be sang along, devastating drumming and a vocal performance Britta which has my utter respect. Not only technically but also for the fact that she doesn’t use her “femininity” to win you over but she serves the song, which is what she admitted herself on the interview she gave us along with the main songwriter of the band Lukas Kerk. With songs such as 1000 lights (epic), Solitary, Under Fire, Running Out Of Time, Outshine (I can go on with the entire tracklist…) Hiraes are not only worth your attention, they demand it and they repay you with every single note! I wonder if they sound equally explosive live on stage as they do on their album. Mark this band and listen to them NOW… Thank me later

Μιλήσαμε μαζί τους για να προετοιμαστούμε για ένα από τα καλύτερα debut album Solitary που έρχεται στις 25 Ιουνίου από τη Napalm Records!
