Την Τετάρτη 7 Σεπτέμβρη οι Paradise Lost ανακοίνωσαν την αποχώρηση του Waltteri Väyrynen και σήμερα οι Opeth ανακοίνωσαν την ένταξη του στη σύνθεσή τους.
Η ανακοίνωση των Paradise Lost ξεκαθάρισε ότι δεν υπάρχει καμία παρεξήγηση από την αποχώρηση του drummer που ηχογράφησε τα τελευταία δύο άλμπουμ των Βρετανών και ο ίδιος μίλησε με τον καλύτερο τρόπο για αυτούς. Τη θέση του θα πάρει ο drummer του προσωπικού σχήματος του Gregor Mackintosh, Strigoi, Guido Montanarini ο οποίος ξεκινά άμεσα με την περιοδεία του συγκροτήματος που ξεκινά 05 Οκτώβρη.
Από τη μεριά τους οι Opeth αναφέρουν «Είμαστε στην ευχάριστη θέση να ανακοινώσουμε ότι ο νέος ντράμερ των Opeth δεν είναι άλλος από τον Waltteri Väyrynen (Paradise Lost, Bloodbath, Bodom after midnight). Ο Walt θα αναλάβει τα καθήκοντά του άμεσα και θα παίξει την πρώτη του συναυλία με το συγκρότημα στο Ταλίν/Εσθονία στις 14 Σεπτεμβρίου 2022. Θα αντικαταστήσει τον αναπληρωματικό ντράμερ Sami Karppinen, ο οποίος ήταν ο προσωρινός αντικαταστάτης του Martin Axenrot από το φθινόπωρο του 2021.»

On Wednesday, September 7, Paradise Lost announced the departure of Waltteri Väyrynen and today Opeth announced the addition of Waltteri Väyrynen to their line-up.
Paradise Lost’s announcement made it clear that there is no misunderstanding from the departure of the drummer who recorded the Brit’s last two albums and he spoke highly of them. His place will be taken by the drummer of Gregor Mackintosh’s personal band, Strigoi, Guido Montanarini who will start immediately with the band’s tour starting 05 October.
For their part Opeth state “We are pleased to announce that the new drummer of Opeth is none other than Waltteri Väyrynen (Paradise Lost, Bloodbath, Bodom after midnight). Walt will take up his duties immediately and will play his first show with the band in Tallinn/Estonia on September 14, 2022. He will replace substitute drummer Sami Karppinen, who has been Martin Axenrot’s temporary replacement since autumn 2021.”
