Ομολογώ ότι όταν πέρασε από μπροστά μου το βίντεο δεν κατάλαβα ποιοι ήταν οι κύριοι. Τους άκουσα από γνήσια περιέργεια και καμία φορά η περιέργεια σου αποκαλύπτει τα καλύτερα…
Οι Ιταλοί Genus Ordinis Dei είναι ένα υπέροχο συμφωνικό death metal συγκρότημα και το Glare of Deliverance που θα κυκλοφορήσει 4 Δεκεμβρίου από την Eclipse Records είναι από τις καλύτερες δουλειές του είδους που θα περάσουν απ’ τον player σου. Σκαλίζοντας δε να βρώ πληροφορίες για τη μπάντα συνειδητοποίησα ότι τους έχω παρακολουθήσει και live σε εκείνο το εκπληκτικό live των Evergrey που είχαν παίξει support με την επίσης ευχάριστη ανακάλυψη της βραδιάς Bloodred Hourglass. Θυμάμαι ότι μου είχε κάνει πάρα πολύ καλή εντύπωση ο επαγγελματισμός τους, το πόσο στα σοβαρά παίρνουν τους εαυτούς τους όταν εμφανίστηκαν στη σκηνή με ομοιόμορφα κοστούμια και μετά το live πήγαν και παρέμειναν στον πάγκο με το merchandise τους προκειμένου να μιλήσουν με τον κόσμο που θα ήθελε να τους γνωρίσει. Αυτό από μόνο του μου λέει πάρα πολλά για τον επαγγελματισμό και τη σοβαρότητα της μπάντας. Όπως λένε η επερχόμενη κυκλοφορία τους είναι μια σειρά από ξεχωριστά τραγούδια που κάθε ένα θα έχει το δικό του βίντεο/επεισόδιο. Αυτά τα επεισόδια είναι σα short film ή τηλεοπτική σειρά που εξιστορεί την ιστορία μιας γυναίκας με το όνομα Eleanor που την καταδικάζει η Ιερά Εξέταση. Την παραγωγή έκανε ο Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht) στα Sonitus Studio, και θα κυκλοφορήσει στις 4 Δεκεμβρίου 2020 από την Eclipse Records.
Το album λοιπόν είναι εξαιρετικό στο είδος του! Αν σου αρέσουν οι Dimmu Borgir, Septic Flesh κλπ αυτό εδώ θα το λατρέψεις γιατί οι Ιταλοί έχουν πολύ πιασάρικες μελωδίες, φωνητικά επαρκώς brutal ώστε να σου φτιάχνουν ατμόσφαιρα αλλά και τόσο καθαρά ώστε να μπορείς να παρακολουθήσεις τους στίχους. Δεν χρειάζεται να σου εξηγήσω τίποτα περισσότερο γιατί αν είσαι φίλος/η του ιδιώματος αυτό είναι το άλμπουμ που αν το είχαν γράψει κάποιοι από αυτούς που σου προανέφερα θα είχαμε βγει «στα μπαλκόνια να χειροκροτάμε». Ναι δεν είναι ακόμη μεγάλη μπάντα αλλά λίγο να τους δοθεί η ευκαιρία, θα κάνουν τεράστια αίσθηση. Ακούγοντας το Glare Of Deliverance έχε τα αυτιά λίγο πιο τεντωμένα στο Dream, Hunt, Edict και Examination.

I have to admit that when the video passed before me on my facebook feed I didn’t quite realize who were these guys and it was pure curiosity that caught my eye. But sometimes curiosity doesn’t kill the cat and reveals us the best discoveries.
The Italian Genus Ordinis Dei are an amazing symphonic death metal band and their upcoming release Glare of Deliverance which will be out on December 4th through Eclipse Records is one of the best albums of the genre that will be in your player. Digging up some information about the band I realized I have watched these guys live a couple of years or less ago in Athens when they were touring with Evergrey. What stroke me back then and made me notice them was the fact that they presented themselves fully professional on stage putting up a breathtaking show and right after that they changed clothes and went down to their merchandise stand so that the people who liked their music can have a chance to talk with them. Now that’s what I call commitment and true professionalism. Their upcoming release is like a series of short films each song being a short part of a film and all together telling the story of Eleanor who was hunted by the inquisition. Production duties were handled by Tommaso Monticelli (Jumpscare, Eternal Delyria, Geschlecht) at Sonitus Studio.
The album is what we can safely call magnificent! If you like bands like Dimmu Borgir, Septic Flesh etc you will absolutely love these Italians who use catchy melodies, vocals clear enough so you can follow the story, yet brutal enough to create the appropriate edge and spooky atmosphere. I need to say no more because if you like the genre, and this album was out by an already established band the buzz would have circled the globe twice and everyone would be talking about it. Genus Ordinis Dei are still a band that is on the rise but given the chance they can rule the genre. Listening to Glare Of Deliverance, my ears were a little extra pleased on the songs Dream, Hunt, Edict and Examination but all in all it’s definitely one of the best albums of the year.
